LifeFit weightlifting Club – Athletic Performance Centre is the culmination of Paul Dunne’s decade and a half of experience in the fitness industry. From working as a Personal Trainer, Gym Manager, Regional Manager and Strength & Conditioning coach for rowing, soccer, GAA, swimming, athletics, weightlifting, rugby and surfing Paul has built a wide range of skills and knowledge that ensure that his clients get the best possible advice and programming in strength, conditioning, nutrition, mobility and general health.
In 2018 Paul designed and implemented a Fundamental Movement skills programme that rolled out to seven national schools throughout North Clare with the support of the Healthy Ireland Fund and Clare County Council. In 2023 this programme is now being run for a third time with over 500 children aged from 5 to 12 years old benefitting.
LifeFit’s current client’s range in age from 7 years old up to clients in their late 70s.
Paul believes that everyone should feel safe and comfortable and enjoy their training environment irrespective of gender, age, shape, size, ability or disability or experience level.
Having worked with Clare Minors as Strength & Conditioning coach in 2017 in their run to their first Munster final appearance since 1994 and a subsequent All Ireland quarter final Paul then worked with Clare ladies for 3 seasons maintaining division 2 status and reaching two All-Ireland quarter finals and a semi-final.
In 2018 and 2022 Paul was Strength & Conditioning to the Ennistymon senior football team with the team reaching the county final on both occasions and the under 21 team winning the county final in 2022.
In 2022 he was Strength & Conditioning to the Liscannor ladies’ team who reached the county semi-final.
Paul has also worked with Burren Utd boys’ and girls’ soccer clubs, Moher Celtic Soccer Club, Liscannor GAA, Kilmurray Ibrickane GAA, Ennistymon hurling Club, Stella Maris rowing club and the Irish Surf Lifesaving team.
In 2023 LifeFit Athletic Performance Centre was established following on from the success of LifeFit Gym & Weightlifting Club. Our 2023 teams included Ennistymon GAA, Corofin Senior Football and Intermediate Hurling Team, St. Josephs Miltown Malbay GAA Senior Football Team and Ennistymon Under 17 Hurling Team. Ennistymon won a first ever Division 1 (Cusack Cup) Final with St. Josephs Miltown Malbay winning the Division 2 (Gary Cup) Final and Corofin hurlers winning the division 2 league final, county final and competing in the Munster Final. St. Josephs Miltown Malbay were also narrowly beaten in the County senior football semi-final.
